Communications Chairperson Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Rwanda Chapter
Venant Nzabandora is an educator, youth leader, and climate advocate based in Kigali, Rwanda, currently serving as Communications Chairperson of the YALI Rwanda Chapter and Rwanda Country Lead for the African Network for Climate Action. He is a Graduate Trainee at the STAR Academy Clean Energy Cohort in Lagos, Nigeria, hosted by InfraCredit alongside DREEF, where he is building technical and analytical skills in clean energy finance. With over six years of teaching experience in Rwandan secondary schools and a background in Biology and Geography education, he has combined classroom work with community-based environmental action, including establishing tree nurseries, kitchen gardens, and youth savings groups through CorpsAfrica Rwanda. He is an alumnus of the AGNES Climate Governance and Diplomacy Program and the IRENA I-ACT Peer Educator training, and attended COP29 in Baku as a delegate. He also completed the Oxford Global Youth Climate Training Programme and UNITAR's Climate Technologies certificate. Venant is committed to bridging local environmental action with global policy dialogue, particularly around climate resilience, energy transition, and water governance.
