Thandile Tanzile Gule

Thandile Tanzile Gule is a Water Management Specialist with expertise in water governance, climate resilience, integrated water resources management, and sustainable development. She holds a PhD in Water Management. She works with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, where she supports continental policy and coordination on water and sanitation, including the implementation of the Africa Water Vision 2063 and its associated policy and implementation frameworks. Her work spans regional and global water policy processes, where she collaborates with African institutions, Member States, development partners, and UN agencies to advance water security, sustainable sanitation, climate resilience, and water-related development priorities. She contributes to policy analysis, technical and strategic reports, stakeholder consultations, high-level meetings, and Africa's engagement in global processes on water and sustainable development. She has contributed to the United Nations World Water Development Report and other UN-Water processes, with a particular focus on Africa's water and sanitation challenges and opportunities. Previously, she worked with the World Bank on infrastructure, environmental, climate, and urban resilience initiatives across Europe and Central Asia. Her work bridges research, policy, and implementation, with a strong focus on translating evidence into practical solutions for sustainable and resilient water management in Africa.
