Sarah Okorno
Climate Action Fellow African Women in Agricultural Research and Development
Sarah Okorno is a climate and water professional from Ghana with a background in water policy, climate adaptation, resilience building, gender and social inclusion, and community engagement. She holds a BSc in Meteorology and Climate Science and a Master’s degree in Water Policy. Sarah has worked with the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) and the Climate Vulnerable Forum/V20 (CVF/V20), supporting climate risk assessments, water and urban resilience initiatives, research, communications, and program coordination. She has experience working with local communities, government institutions, and international stakeholders on climate and water-related challenges, particularly in vulnerable settings. Her work is grounded in bringing the experiences of communities into the conversation and helping ensure that decisions about water reflect the people who depend on it most. Recognizing that different social groups experience water and climate challenges in different ways, Sarah advocates for inclusive solutions that respond to the diverse needs and realities of different groups in society.
