Salma Mouaid

Policy Officer International Community NGO: Internationale Politik für Junge Profis

Salma is a Brussels-based policy professional and youth advocate working at the intersection of water governance, EU environmental policy and youth participation. She is currently a member of the 17th European Youth Parliament for Water, representing the Scheldt River Basin and contributing to the Common Commitment Committee. Through the EYPW, she is particularly engaged in questions of transboundary cooperation and the role of young people in shaping water policy. Salma also volunteers as Policy Officer in the ENVI Working Group of the International Community NGO, where she advocates for stronger youth participation in the European water resilience policy. Her work has included research on youth participation across the Danube and Seine basins, engagement with European Commission and EU Parliament stakeholders, and the development of a water resilience board game presented at the EU Water Resilience Forum. In May 2026, she was first author and poster presenter of research on youth participation in water resilience at the Danube Water Forum in Bulgaria. Alongside her advocacy work, Salma works as a Consultant Project Manager in EU Medical Affairs at GlaxoSmithKline (via Intys Consulting). She previously worked in EU policy evaluation at ADE and in EU-funded environmental and climate projects at SINLOC SpA in Italy. She holds a Master's in International Relations from the University of Groningen and a Bachelor's with honours from Ca' Foscari University of Venice.
