Rosa Pinchao is a Colombian chemical engineer from Ipiales, Colombia and a graduate of the National University of Colombia in Bogotá. Her professional experience centers on drinking water and wastewater treatment, with technical and commercial consulting work in the sector. She is a member of the International Water Association (IWA), and part of the Management Division of AIChE. In 2025, she received the Poddar Award for Rising Chemical Engineers in recognition of her contributions to the organization, her community engagement, and her leadership potential. She has worked on consulting projects focused on optimizing drinking water treatment plants, applying her technical background to help utilities and industrial clients run treatment processes more efficiently and reliably. Her background combines a strong technical foundation in water treatment with a track record of cross-cultural leadership and community work, driving her passion for advancing sustainable solutions and shaping the next generation of leaders in water stewardship. Rosa is particularly interested in how technical consulting expertise, usually confined to private clients, can be connected more directly to public water security goals, and she brings that perspective to the Global Youth Water Envoys Program.
