Aurora Mija is an agricultural engineer and water resources consultant from northern Peru, working at the intersection of integrated water resources management, hydrological modelling, youth engagement, and water governance. Her experience includes technical and governance work with the Tumbes Basin Water Resources Council, where she contributed to water monitoring, basin management, stakeholder coordination, and youth-focused initiatives. She is the National Leader of the Peruvian Youth Parliament for Water within the World Youth Parliament for Water network, where she promotes meaningful youth participation in water governance and policy. She is also co-founder of UVELA, an initiative focused on applying geospatial technologies, field data, and capacity building to support better decision-making in water and territorial management. Her work focuses on connecting technical knowledge, local realities, and policy action to strengthen climate resilience and create meaningful pathways for young people to contribute to water decision-making.
