Water Resources Analyst World Resources Institute (WRI) Indonesia

Ria Verensia is a water resources professional from Indonesia working at the intersection of hydrology, climate resilience, and sustainable water management. She currently serves as a Water Resources Analyst at WRI Indonesia, supporting projects on water security, watershed management, flood and drought risk, and nature-based solutions. Her work combines water balance analysis, risk assessment, GIS-based modeling, and stakeholder engagement to translate complex environmental data into actionable insights for climate-resilient planning. Ria holds a Master of Engineering in Climate, Environment, and Sustainability from MIT’s Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. She previously served as National Secretariat of the 10th World Water Forum, supporting youth engagement with more than 30 international youth organizations, and has continued contributing to youth water engagement through Indonesia Water Warrior. Previously, she was part of Haskoning’s Climate Resilience Team within its Water & Maritime Advisory practice. Her interests center on advancing inclusive, evidence-based approaches to water security and resilient water systems in Indonesia and beyond.
