Oscar William Wyndham
Student Ecohydrology Youth Network
Oscar William Wyndham is an environmental engineer and UNESCO youth leader specialising in ecohydrology and integrated water resource management. He is experienced in field-based hydrology, environmental data analysis, and catchment-scale modelling, with a focus on nutrient dynamics, water quality and flooding. Oscar's engineering training has centred on understanding how catchments function as connected systems, where land use, nutrient loads, and rainfall patterns interact to shape both water quality and flood risk. He is particularly interested in how ecohydrology, the study of how water and ecosystems shape one another, can inform more resilient catchment and water resource management, especially as rainfall patterns and flooding become less predictable under a changing climate. Through his involvement with the Ecohydrology Youth Network and UNESCO's youth platforms, Oscar works alongside young water professionals from around the world to bring an evidence-based, field-tested perspective on catchment health into international water discussions. Through the Global Youth Water Envoys Program, he hopes to bring this technical, field-based lens on water quality and flood resilience into the conversations shaping the 2026 UN Water Conference.
