Mohammad Ahmadi

Mohammad Ahmadi is an Iranian climate justice activist and Co-founder & Communications Director of the MENA Youth Network, the first region-wide, youth-led organization that aims to empower, educate, and engage youth in the area of climate justice in the Middle East and North Africa. He is also a Master's Student in Environmental Science & Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology, and an alum of the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he majored in Environmental Sustainability and Geography & GIS. He has served as a delegate to the UN Youth Climate Summit, COP27, LCOY USA, Youth4Climate Pre-COP26, MENA Climate Week, the World Food Forum Flagship Event, the SDG Summit, the UN Water Conference, COY18, the Arab Youth Summit for Climate Action, the GreenX MENA Regional Youth Forum, Climate Justice Camp Tanzania, and the 16th IRENA Assembly, among others, and was selected as one of the 100 COP28 International Youth Climate Delegates. He has met with leaders including John Kerry, the UAE Minister of Climate and Environment, the KSA Minister of Energy, the FAO Chief Economist, the World Bank Managing Director of Operations, the IRENA Director-General, and the COP28 President, and has worked on partnerships with the FAO, World Food Forum, EARTHDAY.ORG, and the Islamic Development Bank. His work focuses on climate education, youth mobilization and inclusion in decision-making spaces, the water-food-energy-ecosystem nexus in MENA, and faith-based advocacy. He has been featured by the BBC, VICE, and the Chicago Tribune.
