Project Manager Water Supply and Treatment Eawag / Swiss Water Partnership Youth
Marisa Boller holds an MSc in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from EPFL, specializing in water resources and treatment. She works as a Project Manager at Eawag’s Department of Sanitation, Water and Solid Waste for Development, where she leads applied research projects in Uganda, Kenya, and Nepal, supporting rural and small-town water systems. Her work combines drinking water treatment and quality monitoring with stakeholder engagement and capacity strengthening. She works closely with communities, utilities, governments, NGOs and researchers, using participatory approaches to co-create locally relevant solutions for integrated planning of water, sanitation, and solid waste services. Her experience also includes consultancies with the World Bank and AFR’eau/Aqua for All, where she assessed drinking water quality monitoring costs to inform monitoring strategies and investment decisions, and evaluated the performance of chlorinated rural piped water systems in Mali and Burkina Faso. Marisa also coordinates the Swiss Water Partnership Youth, connecting young water professionals globally and promoting meaningful youth engagement. In this role, she has supported youth-led initiatives and contributed to global water discussions, including the development of the Water Youth Strategy and consultations ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference, with a focus on bridging global commitments with local action.
