Joshna Rhea Bhargavan is a student and aspiring researcher from Coimbatore, India, interested in understanding how science, technology, and community action can address environmental challenges. Her interests span environmental science, biology, neuroscience, and data-driven research. She is currently conducting an independent study of long-term vegetation change in Coimbatore using satellite imagery, remote sensing, and environmental data. The project grew from changes she noticed in her own surroundings and her curiosity about whether everyday environmental observations could be investigated systematically through scientific evidence. Beyond research, Joshna has been involved in community and environmental volunteering, including supporting Save Soil and Cauvery Calling initiatives. She has also taken on leadership responsibilities in community programmes, from leading outreach to coordinating a small guiding team, experiences that strengthened her interest in practical, people-centred action. As she prepares to pursue undergraduate study, Joshna hopes to become a researcher whose work connects scientific inquiry with real-world impact. She is particularly interested in making environmental evidence more accessible and understanding how research, communities, and policy can work together to build more resilient futures.
