Islam Samih Mohammad Abdel Jabar is a Program Manager at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Palestine Office, a German political foundation affiliated with the Social Democratic Party of Germany. He has a background in law and international relations and previously worked as a lawyer and human rights defender. His work at FES focuses on supporting political dialogue and democratic development, while bringing together partners from civil society and public institutions, including project planning and implementation, coordination with local and international partners, and reporting to FES headquarters. He has participated in international programs in Germany and elsewhere, including the International Parliamentary Scholarship for Arab Countries and the Global Diplomacy Lab. His research and academic interests focus on diplomacy, particularly non-traditional forms of diplomacy, as well as conflict resolution. He holds a BA in Law and an MA in International Studies. Islam brings a legal and human-rights grounded perspective to questions of governance and resource access in Palestine, and is interested in how democratic development and civil-society dialogue intersect with water access and management in politically constrained contexts. Through the Global Youth Water Envoys Program, he hopes to connect Palestinian civil-society experience to the wider international conversation on water governance ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference.
