Hambeleleni Ndemulombwela Paulus

Hambeleleni Ndemulombwela Paulus is a Political Science student at the University of Namibia and an active youth leader, environmental activist, and community innovator based in Windhoek. Serving as a Global Youth Ambassador for Theirworld and an Eco Champion for SOS Children's Villages, she focuses on youth-led advocacy, social justice, and grassroots environmental sustainability. She is the founder of Katutura Eco-Molds, a circular economy initiative converting plastic waste into hydroponic equipment, and established The Green Haven Hydroponics Lab to enhance community food security in Katutura, one of Windhoek's most densely populated informal settlements. Her practical background in sustainable development is complemented by specialized training in green energy through the UNIDO Accelerate to Demonstrate (A2D) Green Hydrogen program. Combining academic insights with community-level engagement, Hambeleleni mobilizes youth to drive socio-economic transformation, equitable education access, and practical climate solutions across local and international platforms. Her work consistently returns to a single conviction: that circular, low-cost technologies like converting waste plastic into growing equipment can address food security and environmental degradation at the same time, particularly in under-resourced urban communities. Through the Global Youth Water Envoys Program, she hopes to connect Namibia's urban food-and-water innovation to the wider global conversation ahead of the 2026 UN Water Conference.
