Africa Regional Coordinator, Youth Climate Council Global Alliance Green Africa Youth Organization
Foday Kamara is Africa Regional Coordinator for the Youth Climate Council Global Alliance, where he coordinates seven national youth climate councils across the continent, building shared positions on climate and water governance and connecting national chapters to international policy processes. He has represented youth in international climate negotiations at COP28 as a member of the Sierra Leone delegation, at COP29 as leader of the UNICEF Youth Delegation, and at the COP30 Local Leaders Summit. As National Coordinator of the Youth Climate Council Sierra Leone, he led development of a national youth position paper on the country's Nationally Determined Contributions, which earned official recognition in Sierra Leone's NDC 3.0. Alongside this work he is Programme Director at the Youth Initiative for Climate Action in Freetown, where he led the Water for Resilient Communities project from 2023 to 2025, delivering 15 community managed water kiosks connected to solar powered boreholes in informal settlements including Kroo Bay and Susan's Bay. The kiosks serve over 10,000 residents. He holds a BSc in Public Administration and Management from the University of Makeni and an LLB from Fourah Bay College and works in English and Krio.
