Fatou SARR

Fatou SARR is a Senegalese energy and climate professional, researcher, and youth leader working at the intersection of sustainable energy, climate finance, technology and inclusive development. She holds a Master’s degree in green Hydrogen technology and climate Change, specializing in economics, infrastructure and policy. Her research at RWTH Aachen University in Germany examined the techno-economic efficiency of green hydrogen and e-methanol production using Direct Air Capture technologies, strengthening her interest in the interconnected challenges of water, energy and climate resilience. Fatou is President of COP3S Senegal (Conference of the Parties of the Sahel, Sahara and Savannah – Senegal), where she leads youth and community initiatives on climate justice, climate literacy, ecosystem restoration and sustainable development, including the 10,000 Trees for Climate Justice Initiative. She is also the founder of OFS-EdTech (Opportunities for Success–Education Technology), a digital education initiative that has directly supported more than 8,250 young people in accessing educational, professional and leadership opportunities. Her leadership journey also spans more than seven years in Internet governance. Through the Africa Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF), Internet Society (ISOC) and Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), she has contributed to multistakeholder dialogue on digital inclusion, policy and responsible technology. Fatou is passionate about connecting water security, climate justice, sustainable energy and youth leadership, enabling young people to translate global policy discussions into practical community action.
