Eshete Daniel Geletaw is a PhD candidate at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has specialized in Engineering Hydrology, with a strong academic and research background in hydrology and water resource management from Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia, and he has over 10 years of experience in teaching and research at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. His interdisciplinary expertise spans irrigation engineering, hydrology, water resources management, climate change, agricultural water management, and environmental sustainability. His research has focused on groundwater recharge, irrigation water productivity, citizen science, climate change impacts on hydrology, soil erosion, and integrated water resources management. He has authored and co-authored 18 publications in reputable, high-impact-factor, and peer-reviewed international journals. His work integrates field observations, hydrological and hydro-climatic modeling, remote sensing, statistical methods, and emerging computational approaches to address water-management challenges, particularly in data-scarce, transboundary, and climate-vulnerable African River basins. His current research interests include climate change adaptation, machine learning and stochastic hydrology, nature-based solutions, large-scale water availability, and the attribution and prediction of hydrological extremes. His research aims to integrate process-based hydrological modeling, Earth observation, climate data, and machine learning to improve water availability assessment, extreme prediction, and climate-resilient water management.
