Connor Jacob Redmile
Scientific Advisor Te Kura Taka Pini Ltd
Connor Redmile (Kāi Tahu Māori) is a freshwater scientist and emerging leader from Aotearoa–New Zealand, working at the intersection of international water governance, Indigenous knowledge, and interdisciplinary research. He is Scientific Advisor to Te Kura Taka Pini, an organisation advancing Indigenous water rights and interests. Most recently, he co-led a national water programme that mentored community representatives and drove water quality improvements across 18 Indigenous communities. At the high-level preparatory meeting in Dakar, Senegal, Connor served as Stakeholder Rapporteur for Interactive Dialogue E: Water in Multilateral Processes. He continues to closely support this Interactive Dialogue in the lead-up to the Water Conference, helping to shape the new water architecture and engagement of stakeholders. Connor holds a master's in Water Science, Policy, and Management from the University of Oxford, where he graduated with distinction. His proposed doctoral research will explore how alternative worldviews, including Indigenous knowledge systems, can reshape water governance systems to deliver greater water safety and security for generations to come. Connor sees his role as helping multilateral water processes take Indigenous knowledge seriously, not as a cultural add-on but as a genuine source of governance insight.
