Zaharandine BA-LADANI is a specialist in the management of water- and climate-related risks, crises, and disasters. He holds a Professional Master's degree in Water- and Climate-Related Crisis and Disaster Management from the University of Abomey-Calavi. His work focuses on issues such as climate resilience, climate change adaptation, sustainable water resource management, and climate-induced mobility. As a co-founder and Vice-President for Partnerships of the Youth Organization for Water and Climate Change (OJECC-BENIN), he is dedicated to mobilizing young people and implementing community-based initiatives related to climate action, disaster risk reduction, resilient agriculture, water issues, and territorial resilience. His background combines research, organizational engagement, and fieldwork with local communities. His work specifically examines the links between climate variability, water resources, territorial resilience, and human mobility, including how water-related disasters and shortages push people to move within and beyond Benin's borders. He aims to contribute to the development of innovative, inclusive solutions grounded in local realities to strengthen communities' capacity to anticipate and address climate challenges, and through the Global Youth Water Envoys Program hopes to bring this disaster-risk and mobility perspective to the international conversation on water and climate resilience.
