Azza is a Climate Change Negotiator and Governance & Sustainability Consultant working at the intersection of climate diplomacy, sustainable development and water governance. She has represented Egypt in UNFCCC processes from COP27 onwards and advises Egypt’s Ministerial Climate Change and Sustainability Units, supporting the translation of international climate commitments into national governance frameworks and sectoral action. Alongside her public-sector and multilateral work, Azza leads sustainability and climate governance initiatives in the private sector, with experience spanning climate risk, decarbonisation, ESG and sustainable healthcare. She is also actively engaged in African and MENA youth climate networks, including the African Youth Negotiators Fellowship, Africa Finance Corporation Climate Leadership Fellowship and GreenXMENA Forum, where she contributed to regional youth priorities on water and climate resilience. Her interests focus on strengthening water governance in multilateral processes, transboundary cooperation, and the Water × Health nexus. Through her work across government, international negotiations, business and youth networks, she is particularly interested in bridging policy and implementation and helping turn global commitments into practical, measurable action.
