Amina Sailaubay

Amina Sailaubay is an Environmental Engineering student at Tsinghua University and a Chinese Government Scholarship recipient from Kazakhstan. Her academic interests focus on water resources, climate change, sustainable development, and environmental policy. She previously interned at the Department of Climate Policy of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources, where she contributed to COP30 preparation, climate policy research, and the analysis of international environmental initiatives. She has also participated in environmental projects related to pharmaceutical contamination in wastewater and sewage systems in medical facilities. Beyond academics, she is actively involved in youth leadership and currently serves as Vice-President of the Kazakhstan Student Association in China, which brings together more than 500 Kazakhstani students in Beijing. Amina is especially interested in climate-resilient water management, transboundary water cooperation, and youth participation in environmental decision-making. In the future, she hopes to contribute to the development of sustainable water management in Kazakhstan, China, and Central Asia.
