Ajirioghene Anselma Uzere
Founder Diplomat in Training
Ajiri Uzere is a Nigerian-American international development professional and the founder of Diplomat in Training, a youth-focused organization that equips the next generation of African and globally minded leaders with practical, culturally grounded tools to engage in diplomacy, international affairs, and global development. Her work sits at the intersection of cultural diplomacy, global health, water governance, and policy-driven development. Ajiri most recently served as a 2025–2026 U.S. Government Fulbright Scholar and researcher based in Lagos, Nigeria, where she researched the efficacy of legal and policy frameworks governing clean water. Her research examined the water governance landscape and the gap between development intent and implementation, with particular attention to institutional capacity, enforcement, accountability, and public trust. Before her Fulbright, Ajiri worked as an international development research and management consultant with clients including the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Her professional experience spans consulting, nonprofit and think tank research, and grantmaking institutions. Ajiri holds a Master of Science in Health and International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Psychology from the University of Miami.
