Aisha Tawfik Mustafa Mohamedelhassan is a recent graduate in Economics and Political Science from the University of Khartoum, Sudan. Her interests include water governance, sustainable development, public policy, and the connection between water, peace, and economic development. Growing up in Sudan has shaped her interest in how environmental and water challenges affect communities and people's daily lives, particularly in a country where water scarcity, conflict, and economic hardship are closely intertwined. She is interested in learning more about water policy and working with other young people to find practical solutions to shared challenges, drawing on her academic background in economics and political science to think about water not only as a technical resource issue but as a driver of peace, stability, and development. Through the Global Youth Water Envoy Programme, she hopes to learn from different experiences, share her perspective from Sudan, and encourage more youth participation in water and sustainability discussions, particularly around how young economists and policy thinkers can contribute to water governance conversations traditionally dominated by engineers and scientists.
